Goals and Demands
Our goal is to help build a world in which no child is forced to work — a world where every child, regardless of gender, ethnicity, class, or nationality, enjoys the right to play, learn, grow, and live in peace.
To move toward this vision:
- We work to raise widespread awareness about the harms of child labor and the meaning of the right to childhood
- We build coalitions with civil society groups, activists, families, and children themselves
- We work to transform the call for the abolition of exploitative and harmful forms of child labor into a collective public demand
Our Key Demands
- The immediate and complete abolition of child labor in all its forms — with no exceptions, no justifications, and no compromises
- Comprehensive support for the rights of children to survival, development, participation, and protection — across all dimensions: physical, emotional, social, and cultural
- Effective mechanisms to prevent exploitation, violence, and harm to children at the local, national, and international levels
- Raising public awareness of the right to childhood and the risks of child labor through education, information campaigns, and civic engagement
- Encouraging and supporting the active participation of children in decisions that affect their lives and futures
- Strengthening solidarity and coordination among child rights defenders, civil society groups, government bodies, and international institutions to build a united and effective network for advancing children’s rights
- Establishing transparent and accountable organizational structures for child rights activists that can respond to the evolving needs and challenges of the movement
- Exerting pressure on states and centers of power to uphold social justice and eliminate all forms of ethnic, religious, gender-based, racial, and economic discrimination that deprive children of their fundamental rights
